                                             Trip to Ayodhya/Gorakhpur/Naimisaaranyam/Chitrakoot/Varanasi
   अयोधय /गोरखपुर /नैमिशारण्य /चित्रकूट की  परिक्रमा /वाराणसी

After completing our our Muktinath visit,We came back to Pokhra for a day as were very tired 

of rough road journey of nearly ten hourrs by Jeep from Muktinah via Jemsom and Beni.

We took some rest at Pokhra for the day and had Vindhya Vasini temple Darshan again and 

started for Gorakhpur by night bus from Pokhra(Nepal Road Transport bus) which was 

comfortable .We started around 10 pm from Pokhra Bus Stand and reached Gorakhpur by 

6am.While coming back,only Adhar Cards were checked at Border gate .


We took some Hotel nearby Railway Station and after breakfast left for local visit.We visited 

Local famous  Gorakhnath Temple which is called (गोरक्षा नाथ )Who is one of nine or

Navanatath who are disciples of Lord Krishna.This temple is very old and famous.

We also had Darshan of Kali temple in the evening and hired a vehicle to cover our India 

portion of trip covering Ayodhya,Naimisaaranyam,Chitrakoot and Varanaasi.

We started from Gorakhpur after completing local vists next day morning and 

Proceeded for Ayodhya.After Darshan of Lord Rama in make shift temple which had very 

tight security and no photos inside temple, we had a  holy dip in Sarayu river at Bharat Ghat

We proceeded to Naimisaaranyam ./नैमिशारण्य  which is three hours drive 

Fortunately we got rooms just opposite Vyas/वेदव्यास आश्रम  Ashram in their campus.Even 

though rooms were not like Hotel Rooms,basics were available.It was very peaceful area and 

calm .We felt as if we entered a forest area inhabited by old age Rishis. After peaceful night 

rest,early morning we came by 5 o clock after bath,to recite Vishnu Sahasra Namam in group 

in front of above Maharshi Veda Vyas Statue.It was a life time memorable experience to recite 

Vishnusahasra Namam  near  Maharshi Veda  Vyas statue at the same place where he taught 

his disciples.

Behind this is a huge Banyan tree of few thousand years old ,we were told where Rishi Veda 

Vyasa sat and wrote  Mahabharatha,Bhagavath and Astha Dasa Puranas and taught his 

disciples four Vedas and Puranas.

 After completing Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam we had breakfast and left for a place called

Satsang Bhavan where small exhibition of different idols of gods and goddesses depicting 

different scenes of Ramayana,Mahabharat are put up.One such Ram Durbar is below.After 

that we left for Chitra Koot which is three hours drive .Here We have visited a place where 

Lord Rama,Sita and Lakhmana"s foot prints are there well preserved with a fence and  

 revered by devotees. We also saw a place where Jayanth,son of Devendra,King of Devatha"s 

disturbed Mata Sita in the guice of a crow by hitting at her Chest and Lord Rama after seeing 

her bleed leaves a Truna ie a piece of grass as Brahmastra .jayanth after running to all places 

including thrilokas ie  Vishnu Lok,Kailas, and Brahmalok to escape come back to the feet of 

Lord Rama .He looses his one Eye as punishment as Lord Rama pierces his one eye as 

punishment.People believe that crows are having one eye sight only from that day on earth.

Then We saw Maharshi Athri and Mata Sati Anasuya Ashram. Sati Anasuya is that Sacred 

and Poius lady who converted all Tri Murthis ie Brahma,Vishnu and Maheswar in to three 

babies and fed her milk when they went to test her power .We were shown a place inside 

Ashram where Sati Anasuya gave Sacred Sari to Mata Sita which will not be soiled for 14 

years and jewels to wear which were later found by Sugriva ie Kishkindha King when Mata 

Sita was taken by Raavan to Lanka which she threw it on the hill .

.At Chitrakoot we took a Hotel nearby main ga of Lord Rama temple .It was very nice and 

maintained by Tourism Dept and has good restaurant.We then took decision to have walking 

round the sacred hill of Chitrakoot or Giri pradakshin which is approximately 14  km.It took 

approximately 3 hours leisurely seeing all places en route all large trees ,river surrounding the 

hill where all Rishis used to take bath and place where Mata Anasuya Asram is thereMata  or 

Sati Anasuya as she is popularly referred in Ramayana is the wife of Maharshi Athri .She 

converted all Trimurthis ie Brahma,Vishnu and Siva into babies when they went to her Asram 

 to test her Chastity.This epic Story is depicted on the walls of cave inside the Asram.

A small temple is there inside the cave for her.We can see place where these trimurthi"s are 

kept in cradle and where Mata Sita was given new sacred clothes which will not get soiled to 14 

years.

1.          In Front of Mata Anasuya Asram/अनसूया आश्रम के सामने 

After completing Anasuya Ashram visit, we left for a place called Rudra Teertham  which is few kilometers  from Chitrakoot.Here there is one small Lord Siva temple on the banks of pond and another beauty is one Siva ling is inside water fully immersed and not visible.But we can touch it if we go few steps down the stairs at the Ghat.Here devotees are given some fruits by vendors to offer as Prasad to Lord Siva.

We have to throw it in water near Siva Ling which is immersed.If we throw say five fruits all will drown immediately but one will come back to float which is considered as Prasad from Lord and taken from water for eating by devotees.We have thrown multiple fruits and got Banana and apple one piece each back as visible in the photo.Even flowers it is same.

From here we left for Varanasi after Lunch .Onway to Varanasi by an Innova vehicle hired from Gorakhpur,we met with an accident around 9.30 pm on the outskirts of Varanasi.

My wife got injured on the face with brokenside glass pieces and strted bleeding heavily.We got her admitted in nearby hospital and she got discharged after six days of treatment with bandage.Then We entered holy City of Varanasi on Durgashtami day and had Darshan of 

Lord Vishwanath and Mata Visalakhshi and Mata Annapurna.Stayed another twodays and had Rudrabhishekam and returned to Hyderabad after having all temples Darshan ie Kasi Visvanath,Mata Annapurna,Mata Visalakshi,Varaahi,KaalaBhairav,Sankat Mochan Temple,Geetha Bhavan ,Kedareswar Temple and many more.

With the grace of Lord Viswanath of Kasi,We reached safe  back to Hyderabad.

Trip Guidance

1.Gorakhpur:Plenty of Tourist and Budget Hotels available near railway Station,Central Gorakhpur,

2.Ayodhya:It is a small town.Tourist Lodges are available.No Pre booking required.faizabad is dist HQ nearly 20 kms and good hotels are available.

3.Naimisaranyam.:Small place .Tourists cottages and lodges available.Not very posh.Basic facilities available with good vegetarian food.

4.Chitrakoot:This ha two sides entry one from UP side and another from MP side.TP.Tourism has good facilities for lodging and boarding.
