We left Janakpur  ,for Khatmandu on 26 sept  morning by Jeep.It  was a six hour Journey.

Khatmandu is capital of Nepal,a cosmopolitan city.main language is Nepali. But most of the people follow Hindi and some people English,Tibetan ,Bhutanese languages.Main income source is tourism. We confined our tour to places of spiritual importance and less for other activities like trekking. Most of the local eating habits are non vegetarian a,but few pure vegetarian hotels are available. It was only a declared Hindu Kingdom till few years ago.But with changed political scenario in Nepal it is a secular country.

There is no prohibition on alcohol consumption and freely available and can be consumed in all restaurants and hotels without any permit or restrictions.

Local people are laborious and honest. As it is a landlocked country, most of Nepal"s daily requirents including food items and fuel are imported by road route.Local conveyance by Taxi is a bit expensive compared to Indian cities

We stayed  in Hotel called "Florid" in an area called Thamel in Khatmandu which is very busy City center.Hotel are reasonably priced and value for money in busy city centre called Thammel.

Evening, we visited famous Lord Pashupathinath Mandir. Pashupathi means Lord of all creatures including human beings as we are called two legged animals(Dwipada Pashu) as other animals have more legs or no legs .It has   four gates to enter the temple. All four faces of Lord Mahadev here have  different names.East side Tathpurusha(तत्पुरुष ),South side Aghora(अघोरा )West side Vamadeva(वामदेव) and North side Sadyojatha(सद्योजात )The fifth side is top side looking up which is(ईशान ) Eesana(That mean's Lord Shiva is all omnipresent and Omnipotent. We had Darshan from all sides.

Next we visited Bhakthapur which is a world Heritage site of more than 500 years old. Here we have seen many museums and temples without puja and sculptures of old Nepal kingdoms ,their art, craft and life style down the centuries.

This was a place from where previous kings ruled Nepal.Everywhere their names and deeds are  written on walls and scriptures. Then we visited a place called Durbar Chowk which is down town Khatmandu, a market place within old fort area comprising centuries old shops.
Here we have seen one Kumari temple.

Kumari  Temple

Here every year once a girl from a selected family is given a special status called Kumari who will be less than 9 year old and she will given Godess status like our Balatripura Sundari after performing some Pujas by Kings Priests. During  Navarathri she gets worshiped as little Godess.Throughout life she has to remain unmarried and serve temple as God"s order. This is an age old tradition followed by them.
Then we did some souvenirs shopping

The beauty  here is that it is made of single stone of about few tons measuring 20 ft

by 8 feet and depth of 1.5 to 3 feet .

You can see the top portion reflection in water as it is which science cannot explain.

It is more than few thousand years old.
